A visit of a group of Russian merchants and senior agents of logistics and transportation companies from Iranian ports equipment and potentials

The main aim of this visit from Russian side, gaining enough knowledge about Iran capabilities in import and export sectors and also enhancement of North-South corridor operation, business and transit transactions and transfers from India and South-east of Asia via Iranian ports toward Russia. The capacity of all Iranian ports is about 270 million tones.

Furthermore, this group took part in a conference in Esteghlal hotel in Tehran with attending of Dr. Afandizadeh, deputy of transportation minister, Mr. Eslami, the member and deputy of port operation and financial of Iranian port and maritime organization, Dr. Bayat, deputy of market development of IRISL group, Dr. Yaseri, managing director of P.T.E.C. , and some guests like governmental managers of Iranian customs, central bank and private companies.

In this gathering, at first, greeting to attendees and showing gratitude to Dr. Afandizadeh, introduced P.T.E.C. and related experiences and abilities during last 30 years and explained list of equipment and capabilities, Dr. Yaseri said. Eventually, he presented the affiliated companies of P.T.E.C. and status of shareholders in its basket.

In the following, Dr. Yseri explained about P.T.E.C. affiliated companies included in below: 

1. Jahan Deniz Kala

shares belong to PTEC : 65% 

Services: maritime transportation, logistics services, import and export of goods from various origins toward customers

2. Emtedad Zanjireh Paydar 

shares belong to PTEC : 80%   

Services: International road transportation of goods 

3. Sahel Gostar Pars 

shares belong to PTEC : 49% 

Services: port operation and related different equipment supplier

4. , Terminals and Tanks Petrochemical co.

shares belong to PTEC : 16.67% 

Services: storing of chemical goods of all petrochemical companies in Mahshahr and Assaluyeh and export terminals services

5. Petrol Hamkaran Sourin Azhand

shares belong to PTEC : 34% , 

Services: tankers supplier for domestic and international companies

Afterward, we stay on a good status along recent situation for boosting our relationships and commercial transactions among Iran, Russia and C.I.S. because of our abilities and potentials and the location of Iran with regards to connection into oceans, Dr. Afandizadeh said, as a second speaker.

During the session held on April 2022, between Iranian and Russian teams, the major aim that has targeted until 2023, is transporting 10 million tons transit commodities, he said, as well. Also, we have put some goals for our railway, maritime, road and multimodal transportation.

Moreover, in tripartite meeting among Iran, Russia and Azerbaijan for Astara-Bandar Abbas corridor, we have predicted to reach our goods transit transaction up to 15 million tones until 2030, he said as a conclusion. 

According to above three-way agreement, we agreed to construct a huge logistics center in Astara with preparation necessities to handle operation activities for 15 million tones commodities transport.

After second speech, Dr. Eslami, the member and deputy of port operation and financial of Iranian port and maritime organization, said about some details in associated to capacity of Caspian Sea and connected corridor from this toward the Persian Gulf: 

All maritime trade which occurs in Caspian Sea right now is about 30-35 million tones; meanwhile, the capacity of Iranian ports along this is more than recent trade. At the same time, paying more attention to capabilities of southern Iranian ports and their potentials, equipment and related processes would be necessary.

Within this standpoint, two parameters are important and vital consisted of time and cost. Finally, therefore, in terms of mentioned factors, Iran always is the most appropriate way for consignments" transit along above corridor. 

Also, based on our agreement with India for Chabahar port development plan, the capacity of this will increase to 12 million tones. 

We are ready to help foreign companies to decide for goods transit from Iran corridor as maritime and port authorities, he said. 

At last, Mr. Eslami appreciated to P.T.E.C. and Jahan Deniz Kala because of setting up this type of international events and he asked to continue these meetings in the future that they would result corporation among countries of our region and more value-added revenue for active companies in this venue.

As last speaker, Mr. Hasanzadeh, managing director of Jahan Deniz Kala co., greeted to governmental heads and merchants and logistics providers. In addition, he presented his company services as below:
